Leviticus 1:3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
Leviticus 1:4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
Leviticus 1:5 And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
If you were a part of our Livestream Revival services yesterday, I am sure you recognize the verses. I have hesitated using them this morning, but the lesson the Lord taught me is so big in my heart. Dr. Bagwell did a marvelous job expounding the Scripture.
My heart is on the thought of value. Last week we spoke of how much, Jesus valued us and just how much we value Him. It really is a great question for us as Christians. One of the things we learned yesterday was, the Lord showed what value He placed on us by the offering He described in our verses. He gave His very best, JESUS.
Read the verses again, notice the one giving the offering kills the Ox. What rings loudly to me is our Lord honors us to participate in His work. The giver slew the sacrifice. All because He first gave, we have the privilege to give back. I feel a bit tongue-tied about it. Inadequate in expressing my sentiments, but let me say My Lord has been so good to me. I want to be the one to give Him whatever lavish gift He may ask of me. I want to bestow on Him the honor He richly deserves, but I also want to be selfishly honest, I want the honor bestowed by my Savior, on me to join in bringing Glory to My Heavenly Father.
Remember when the woman broke the alabaster box; some whimpered about it being wasted, not her she knew the value on the One she was anointing. I want to know Him in that way.
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
