Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
The fellowship of His sufferings. Not what we relish in the idea of the power of his resurrection. Yet, it is necessary for us.
Another reason we recoil from the fellowship of his sufferings, is the false stigma that is associated with it. Too many people observe someone going through trials and tribulations and immediately think, “what secret sin do they have that would cause this judgment?” We WRONGLY think this way.
Our Father determines to send us “Through the Fire” for various reasons. All of them valid. You may-be thinking, How can the fire be valid? Because the Father always does things for our good and His Glory! Our problem is we have not been to our own Garden of Gethsemane to say “not my will but thine.” When we go through our Gethsemane, we are willing to “take up our cross” and follow Him!
The fellowship of his sufferings means at its core that we enter into a “partnership” with the Lord in suffering. We join in his suffering. JESUS was willing to give and go through, to Him, the ultimate in suffering in order to obey the Father. May the Lord give us this earnest desire to obey our Father that Jesus felt.
I ask the Father to make me willing to join in the fellowship of his sufferings with a good and right spirit and response.
I worship you today Jesus, you are amazing to me.
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
