Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I am still interested today in the presence of the GOD of Peace. Read carefully that first sentence.  I believe that the wording I used is the secret to the Peace of God.  It is the presence of the God of Peace.

Our verses above speak of the peace of God.  That is a wonderful thing. We desperately need it. Not only in today’s world filled with uncertainty, but every day.  We have always needed it, now it seems to be more of a recognized need.  Maybe that is one of the reasons our Father is allowing all of this chaos to go on.  To cause us to understand we NEED HIM!

One of the things the Lord is speaking into my life is it is not the peace of God that should be my pursuit; it is the presence of God. The peace of God is a by-product of His Presence.  When He is on the scene He takes control, He gives direction and He gives Victory!

These verses give us some insight into obtaining His presence in our life; it is through prayer that we can have His presence.  When, we develop the habit, of not just daily praying and seeking Him, but moment by moment, we learn to consult and surrender to His direction and will, then we will experience His Presence.

Most of you know my close friend Kurt LaBouve.  I love to hear him sing his arrangement of the classic hymn “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”.  One of the refrains says:

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Invest time today taking everything to God in Prayer!

Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
