Psalms 61:8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

We have been talking about the things I believe the Lord wants us to work on to be Victorious in “Times of Trouble”. Our verse this morning gives us two things.  Yesterday we talked about Singing.  Today we will talk about the second thing in the verse.  That is, to Serve.  To perform those things we are called to do and we have told the Lord we would do. So often, we tell the Lord we will, and then we procrastinate or renege on our commitments.  David determined he would sing because he knew that singing would help him to keep Jesus in His proper place in our lives.  Praising the Lord causes us to affirm that Jesus is worthy of any sacrifice and every effort we are called on to give for Him.

There is also the matter of serving others.  In today’s world, there is a great need for people to serve and have a servant’s heart. I want to challenge you today to not only serve Jesus but to serve others also.  Find a way. Use your talent. Sew masks, record a Sunday School lesson on your phone, and email it to me.  Make a phone call to a Church Family member to encourage and check on them. Whatever your talent use it to be a blessing to others. I think of this line from the poem “Others” by Charles D. Meigs,

Others, Lord, yes others
Let this my motto be
Help me to live for others
That I may live like Thee.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:40  “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Be Blessed,
