Psalms 61:6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.
Psalms 61:7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
Our verses today provide us the second thing I believe the Lord wants us to work on to be victorious in “Times of Trouble”. He wants us to Seek Him! David said he would abide before God forever. That is what we need to do in our own lives. To seek the Lord.
The best way to do that is through God’s Word. Every day spend some time in your Bible. Read the Scriptures and study them. Read them slowly, phrase by phrase. Meditate on them and ask the Lord for understanding and Wisdom.
Often times, we use the excuse I don’t have time. I think the Lord has taken that excuse away from us. We also get the idea, when we hear the instruction to read the Bible, I can’t read all of that. No one is saying read the entire Bible, just take a passage of Scripture and read it, think it through and meditate upon it. Work on Quality time with the Lord. The quantity will grow naturally.
Isaiah 55:6 says “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” I have found that if I get into my Bible my Bible gets into me.
Be Blessed,
