1 Chronicles 16:34 (KJV)
34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
Today look at the second phrase of our verse. The writer simply states “he is good.” Do you ever stop and ponder the truth of just how good God “IS.”
Not just that He does good or gives us good things, but HE is good. That is a part of His being. I have been in prison services and heard someone say “God is good all the time” and the response back is “All the time God is good.”
How sad that those incarcerated have a more thorough understanding of the goodness of God oftentimes more than those who remain “free.” Sometimes the Lord has to use difficulty in our lives to help us realize His Goodness. He loves to be good to us. We often do not recognize His goodness. It may look different than we expect, but He is working all things for our good and His Glory.
Today is a good day to say “Lord You are good and I give you thanksgiving and praise.
