Psalm 63:5-6 (KJV)
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Yesterday, I asked if you were satisfied. Again, a loaded question I know. The truth of the matter is too many would have to say no. The reason we would have to say no is we are looking for our satisfaction and contentment in the wrong place. Really it is not a place or a position it is the person of God, Himself.

Notice what is said, satisfaction and praise come when the Psalmist remembers “thee.” He is saying when I remember all that my God IS, then all He has done, when the writer meditates on the blessings God has bestowed, the protection God has provided, the provision God has provided then “with joyful lips” he smiles and gives God Glory.

The world system and the things of this world including people can never provide contentment and satisfaction. People are fallible, things rust, tarnish and fade away. Only our wonderful, loving Heavenly Father can satisfy. Only He can provide assurance of salvation and eternal life here on this Earth.

We must begin a pursuit of knowing God. How? By making the conscious choice to point your life in His Direction. Let the Word of God “dwell in you richly” so that your thoughts are of Him first and foremost!

Here is a little exercise that will help. I heard of this in a story about Daws Trotman, the founder of a ministry called the Navigators. If he and his staff were in a camping retreat or in a dormitory somewhere, just before they would go to sleep, he would call out “HWLW!” Then someone would quote a verse of Scripture and that would be the last thing on their mind before the Word of God. “HWLW” stands for His Word Last Word. That is a wonderful habit to get into. Quote a verse of Scripture before going to sleep so that the last thing you think about is HIM!

It would be a wonderful way to end the day.

 Be Blessed,
