John 3:16 (KJV)
16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The Monday before Christmas. I am using a verse today that I used earlier. I also preached on this verse yesterday morning in our worship service. If you were here, I trust you will receive something fresh and new.

I love Christmas. It was a joyous time in my childhood. My Father loved it as well. He gave at Christmas. He did not have much growing up so he joyed in giving to us. Not spoiled mind you but giving. It brought him much joy.

There are so many lessons in those statements. But the most important for me is when the Bible says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son…”, I have no problem understanding that. Our Great God and Heavenly Father gave to us His Son in order to save and deliver us from the punishment of sin.

Even though God is love, He is also Holy. That perfect blend demands that there be a penalty of sin, but also it provides a remedy, a covering, a payment for sin. That was God’s only Son dying in our place to satisfy God’s Righteous demand for the punishment of sin.

Jesus died for you and me. He paid the price. Yesterday morning, our choir sang the song “It’s About The Cross.”  That is so very true.

I rejoice in Christmas, it’s beauty and wonder. The lights and the tree. For me it brings wonderful memories, but also it brings to me the joy of knowing I am loved by the God of Heaven so much that He gave to me and for me the Greatest Gift Ever, His Son Jesus!

He Loves You Too. Believe on Jesus Today!

 Be Blessed,
