Revelation 5:9-14 (KJV)
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
New Year’s Eve. Another Year has come and gone. Today I want you to think with me concerning this scene in Heaven. The Rapture or taking away of the saints to Heaven. Yesterday we talked about Jesus being worshipped and praised for Creation today they worship and praise Him for redemption.
Our verses tell us Jesus was and is the ONLY ONE worthy to do this. Redemption was in the heart of God from before the beginning of time. Another verse in Revelation says that Jesus was the lamb “slain before the foundation of the World.” You see God knew that before He ever created man, He would have to redeem man because of sin.
One writer said “the whole work of God in redemption is to undo the tragic events of that foul revolt, and bring us back again into a right relationship with Himself.” Our wonderful God wants to fellowship so much that He “gave His only begotten son” in order to bring us back into that privilege and right relationship.
Sadly, we are often not as concerned about our relationship with God as He is concerned about His relationship with us! He has given His Best. He has provided us with precious promises. He has said “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” Imagine that we have a loving Heavenly Father who has done so much to grow our relationship with Him and we neglect our responsibility to Him and our relationship with Him.
In the coming year, my main goal is to know, to love and to walk with my Lord in a deeper, more intimate and fulfilling way. I will write much about this theme and journey. I invite you to join me, as we travel a path less traveled even for most believers. I have chosen to pray with Moses, “Show me thy glory.”
Let’s take this marvelous trip together.
Happy New Year!
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
