Exodus 33:18-19 (KJV)
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
To start the New Year, I want us to look at Moses’ cry to the Lord. “Shew me thy glory.” You might think that this is too much to ask for. Moses has gone too far. But our Father grants Moses’ request.
Over the course of the year, we will examine and reexamine this Heavenly request and answer. My goal is to learn how to go about having this close relationship with God. How to be able to ask God to reveal His glory, and He says okay.
There are a number of factors’, I am sure. First, there is Grace. In the previous verses, Moses said to the Lord, “if I and thy people have found grace in thy sight.” God told Moses you have found grace in my sight.
That is exciting to me because it tells me that anyone that has experienced God’s Amazing Grace can grow in a relationship with Him and see His Glory! I know that one day we all will, but like Moses I believe we all should desire it now, here on Earth, before we go to Heaven.
That is what God wants for us. It is why the Apostle Paul cried that “I may know Him.” He could also say “For to Me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Paul desired to continue to know Jesus in a more intimate way.
This tells us that it all begins with, continues in, and concludes with His Grace. We should all rejoice because it brings into sight the Word of God’s promise that “he is no respecter of persons.” This opportunity, this journey is available to everyone.
No excuses, just the invitation, “come take the water of life freely.”
What are you waiting on? Thank God for His Grace and ask Him for more that you might walk with Him daily.
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
