Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
The power of His resurrection. It is the need of our day in the Christian life. To walk in His power.
Think with me for a moment, what is the power of his resurrection? It is the power to bring death to life! Jesus was dead, lying in a borrowed tomb outside the gates of Jerusalem. Dead, but on that first Easter, He is Alive! The first evidence of this power is salvation. Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; the word quickened means to make alive.
The second aspect of the “power,” is to be free from sin. That is changed from who you were to who the Father wants you to be. Remember this line in the song “Redeemed” “I don’t have to be the old man inside of me because his day is long dead and gone”. Well, run a lap right there. Amen! I am so glad that his day is gone through the power of his resurrection.
Write this in your heart, the power of his resurrection is first about being something, not just “doing” something!
Today, our course of action is to ask the Lord to help us become the person He wants us to be. Not what we think others expect us to be, but who He expects us to be. How you may ask? By taking the steps, we have previously discussed, declare I want to walk in the power of the resurrection, I will be clean through the blood of the lamb, and today by declaring, I will walk in newness of life as the person the Father wants me to be. I will grow in His Grace and Likeness today.
Be Blessed,
