Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
We ended yesterday asking the Father to make us willing to join the fellowship of His sufferings. A tall order I know. Yet, if we are serious about walking in his fellowship and power, we must join in the fellowship of his sufferings.
Notice sufferings is plural. This is what we will face. A continual work of God in our lives. My friend, Dr. Charles Keen, said to me, “New levels new devils!”. How true.
One of the reasons it’s true is a human tendency to “swell” up with pride. One of the things that suffering does is it brings reality back in our life. It causes us to understand we are not “all that and a box of chocolates,” that we are dependent on the Lord. In short, It Humbles Us!
If we are going to walk in the power of his resurrection, it will be under His authority and blessing. How we need His touch today.
