Psalms 61:8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
We have been talking about the things I believe the Lord wants us to work on to be Victorious in “Times of Trouble”. Our verse this morning gives us two things. The first is to Sing! Yes, Sing! Music is the language of our emotions. A song can influence and change our mood. David had experience with this. He was called on to play music and, I think, sing for Saul when Saul had an evil spirit.
For you and I, we are affected by the music we listen to. The lesson is for us to SING unto the Lord. It keeps our minds focused on HIM! Let me give you an example, have you ever said: “I have this song stuck in my head?”. Most of us have had that experience. I have noticed a number of people have been posting songs on Facebook. The common thread about those songs as been most of them have been the older hymns that speak to us about being able to trust or depend on the LORD! We inherently know that our thinking will follow what we are listening to and singing about.
So, let’s sing and worship the One who loves us and died for us and lives for us. The One who is at the right hand of the Father praying for us, looking over us and looking out for us. His name is JESUS!
It matters not if you can ‘carry a tune in a bucket’, pick up your bucket, and sing. Sing along with some solid wonderful Christ-centered music. Lift up your voice in Praise. He is Worthy. I think of the line from the song “He’s All I Need” that says “ He’s all I need when trials come”. It is true. Jesus is all we need and the One we can trust.
Psalms 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Be Blessed,
