 Hebrews 12:14-15 (KJV)
¹⁴  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
¹⁵  Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

 Happy Monday. Today let’s look at another consequence of unforgiveness. It is the ultimate consequence, probably the one all of the others leads to. The Root of Bitterness.

 Unforgiveness brings us to a bad place in our life. Notice it shows up in two directions. The Bible uses the word root. That indicates that unforgiveness in our heart goes down deep and wraps its ugly and harsh tentacles around our heart and digs in.

 Then the Bible says, it springs up and troubles you. In other words, you have a hard heart and a bitter spirit. Not a great way to live. You go around miserable and making everybody around you miserable. You are hard to get along with and you begin to put others at a distance and keep them there.

 Notice too, that the Bible says that you become the wrong type of testimony. Instead of being a ‘trophy of grace’ you become an example of what happens when we fail to give grace and forgiveness to others. It is just not worth it.

 Please I plead with you today, forgive. Choose to do it. You may not feel like doing it. You may even say I do not want to forgive them. You Must, ask the Lord to help you. Rule your spirit by saying I forgive. Even when your emotions say don’t you need to say I choose to forgive.  Jesus will help you. 

 Do it now!
