Verse of the Day
Friday
08/08/2025
Psalm 62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Once again, we see the picture of our Lord being our Rock. Look particularly at verse 8. The Psalmist implores us to trust our God. The sentence structure gives us the emphasis that if we do not trust our God, we will never pour out our heart to Him.
We all have a friend that we love but we do not open up to them because we are unsure if they can be trusted with our deepest secrets. Too often, we hold things back from the Lord as well. The Scripture assures us He can be trusted. He cares. In fact, He orchestrates everything that goes on in our lives. Romans 8:28 should come to mind. Everything He is doing is for our ultimate good and His Glory.
Even in those times, when the valley is deep and the night is dark, we can trust Him and pour out our heart unto Him. That means to share with Him our fears, failures, and frustrations. Our disappointments and despair. Even when we feel as if we are falling into depression. That is when we should pour out our heart.
When I see that expression, pour out, I think of the act of worship of pouring out the drink offering or of David after thirsting for the refreshing water from a specific well, held by the enemy, was brought a drink by one of his mighty men, poured it out in honor of the bravery that was exhibited.
When we pour our heart out, we are ascribing worth to our God. He always honors that. He will help you.
Have you talked with Him Today?
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
