Psalm 18:6 (KJV)
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he
heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Psalm 40:1 (KJV)
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and
heard my cry.

Today I want to concentrate on the highlighted word in our two verses. The Psalmist emphasizes an important fact. Our Heavenly Father “hears” us. He wants to hear from us. He wants us to tell “all of our troubles.”

Now remember our God is omniscient, that means He Knows All Things! When we talk with Him, it is never to give Him information that He does not already know, so He can make “an informed decision.” We talk with Him in order to fellowship with Him and to be in His Presence. We need to understand that He, God, the God of Heaven and Earth wants to fellowship with us. (I think sometimes it takes trouble and difficulty to drive us to make time for Him.)

The Hebrew word for “heard” means to hear intelligently. The idea is that he hears with both Knowledge and Understanding. He has it all under control. He is listening.

I was reminded of a truth recently about wives. They often come to talk with their husbands and we husbands, usually think well I have to fix this. But we find out, they do not want us to fix it, they just want someone to listen to them, to hear them. When we just listen, that fixes things. Our wives just want us to listen, to just give her our ear, our attention. When we do it gives her a sense that everything is under control.

It is the same way with the Father, when we talk with Him and spend time in His presence, it assures us He Has Everything under control.

He is listening, are you talking to Him, yet?

 Be Blessed,
