 Revelation 4:1 (KJV)
¹  After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

 I am reading the book of The Revelation in my daily Bible Devotions. This verse is pivotal in understanding this New Testament book of prophecy.

 If you misinterpret this verse, you will be lost throughout the prophecy. Revelation 1:19 says “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” It gives us the outline God told John to follow. The verse begins the third and largest section of the book “the things which shall be hereafter.”  This time period begins with the rapture of the believer and ushers in the Tribulation period where God pours out His wrath on this Earth.

 Our lesson today is to remind us to be ready. Jesus said “in an hour when you think not.” In a time when you are not prepared. The Apostle Paul, uses the language “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.” In an instant everything will change. Jesus will come. No warning, no extra time to make things right, or to do the right thing. Just gone into the presence of the Lord.

 As we look forward to the end of the year, let us purpose to be ready, to not leave anything undone. We may not make it to see 2026.
