 Matthew 19:4-6 (KJV)
⁴  And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
⁵  And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
⁶  Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

 I just returned from a trip to Louisiana. Lisa and I, along with Jonathan and Victoria went to Lauren Powell’s wedding to Hudsen Doucette.

 As many know Lauren and her sisters have been coming to Grace Baptist for ten years at least, singing in the different meetings we have held. The Powell family has blessed us with their sincere singing, worship and their genuine family love and harmony. Their family has become dear friends. The girls Dad and Mom, Mike and Telah Powell are very special people. Raising a big family to love the Lord and serve Him faithfully is a wonderful accomplishment. It was a beautiful wedding.

 Our verses today, give us Jesus’ discourse on marriage. It is God’s design for male and female, one man and one woman to come together in marriage. Jesus quotes the Old Testament instructions from the Book of Genesis. Many people have called it the “Leave Cleave Principle” of marriage. The point is that two people are to become one. It is a bedrock principle of society.

 We must guard vigorously the sanctity of marriage. How is Yours?
