Verse of the Day

Exodus 33:18-19 (KJV)
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
A cry! An urgent request! A desperate need! All of these phrases describe the phrase in verse 9 “I beseech thee.” This word in Hebrew is only used 9 times. Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionary gives the meaning this way “a primitive particle of incitement and entreaty.” It is translated “I pray” 3 times and “now” 3 times. It is translated “I beseech thee” only here.
A wonderful note also, is that when this word is translated into Greek it becomes “hosanna.” When a sincere cry of prayer turns into a shout of praise. That is a principle that rings true over and over again in Scripture.
The meaning from Moses is, Lord this is what I really want. Moses wanted to see God’s Glory. He wanted God to show Himself Mighty on behalf of the nation of Israel and on his behalf. But Moses has the attitude, if no one else wants to see you I do.
That is the attitude that gets God’s attention. Jacob had it when he said to the “Angel of the Lord,” ‘I will not let thee go until you bless me.’
That is the attitude I am asking the Lord for in my heart and life for 2026. I want to know the Lord and see His glory in a new way this year. I have begun my journey.
Join me as we say to the Lord, “Show me thy glory.”
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
