Mark 6:31
³¹  And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while:

You probably can guess why I am using this verse today.  Mrs. Lisa and I have taken a few days away to get some rest.

The context for our verse is after the tragic event of John the Baptist’s beheading the Lord Jesus told His disciples to come apart and rest.  I believe there is a spiritual lesson for all of us.  I have learned that whenever you go through a major event in your life, especially a spiritual battle, you need to rest and rejuvenate.  That rest is necessary for growth.  Just as in the physical realm you need rest so in the spiritual realm.

My friend Charles Keen taught me the phrase “New Levels equals New Devils.”  In a conversation with him recently we spoke of being under spiritual attack.  He told me “Bro. Jowers I have also learned New Grace for every new level.”   That is a wonderful truth.  Praise the Lord for it.  Take it to heart and trust when you cannot see what the Lord is doing you can rest in the Lord and His will.
