Psalm 61:2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

I am so glad one of the ways our Lord is described in Scripture is a Rock. Several times the Lord uses the metaphor “Rock”. In our verse today, the word rock means boulder, Cliff or large rock. What interests me is the root meaning of the word. It is compressed.

We rate metal, based on, how much pressure it can take. When we are going to put wooden fence posts, we look for “pressure treated” wood. Why? Because it has been put to the test of pressure and proven, it can handle it.

Isaiah described Jesus this way, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. He is saying our Lord has been through the fire, He has been put to the test. He has passed every test!

Because He has passed the test, he is worthy to be our rock. Sometimes you stand on a rock, because you need sure footing or stability. Other times, you stand under the rock allowing it to provide shelter from the storm or shade from the blazing heat of the sun. Whatever your need may be I recommend our Rock His name is Jesus.

Today, run to the Rock. He is that Rock higher than us, stronger than us, the one able to handle every need.

Do it today!

Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
