Job 42:5-6
8 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
8 6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
Job has weathered his storm. He has endured the false accusations of friends. He has now settled in with the Lord. He has come to an unusual conclusion.
Instead of getting puffed up or proud because of his advances in his relationship with the Lord he realized the closer you get the more Righteous, Holy and Wonderful the Lord is. It also caused Job to realize just how lacking he was. Job looked at the Lord and looked at himself and declared, I am nothing.
What a difference than today. So many today toot their horn over the least little thing. Some small advance, some little gain and they are claiming some great status, never acknowledging that every step forward in our life is the work of the Grace of God.
My friend, the closer you are able to get to the Lord Jesus the more you will truly realize, like Job, our Lord is far greater, more Holy, more righteous, more everything than we could imagine.
My point is this. May we humble ourselves before Him in awe and wonder at our Saviour. He is worthy!
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
