Psalm 62:7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Today we continue to look at our verses from Psalm 62.  Our word for today is refuge.  A word that we believe; we understand and know the meaning of.

The word used for refuge here is different than the one used in the book of Joshua and I Chronicles.  There the word has the root meaning of asylum.  Here the word means shelter as in shelter from a storm.  It also indicates shelter from falsehood as well as a haven of hope and trust.

Our Lord will provide shelter from any storm, but during your respite, He will deal with you in truth with the truth.  People so often will refuse to face truth – truth concerning themselves or their situation or circumstances.

Please understand, I do not want to inflict pain or open old wounds but it is impossible to heal correctly or completely without dealing with the root of any problem or facing the Truth.  Did you catch that that one of the meanings is hope or haven of hope?  Jesus is that and more.  He not only provides safety but healing, not only shelter but also hope.  He is all we need.

We have a refuge, a shelter, a hope that is steadfast and sure.  Run to Him today.

Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
