Verse of the Day
Tuesday
11/11/2025
Psalm 33:12 (KJV)
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Veterans Day! The day our nation celebrates those who have served. We are a blessed nation. Our forefathers came to America to worship Freely without government interference. Without some tyrannical earthly king or court interfering in their worship of the true God.
Hundreds of thousands of men and women have fought and died for you and I to have the privilege to choose to worship or choose not to. Our Heavenly Father allows man the choice. Joshua declared “chose you this day whom ye will serve.” You make a choice, he says. Moses asked the question, “who is on the Lord’s side?”
Today is a day to be grateful and thankful for those who have chosen to serve. My Father and all of his brothers served. From World War II to Korea to Vietnam my Dad and Uncles left home to serve their Country. I am extremely proud of that Heritage. The Lord saw fit to call me into His army. I am very grateful that He did. It is a joy to me to serve Jesus.
Two questions for you to ponder today. One, are you thankful and grateful for those who have served, for those who gave their lives in order that we could be free? Two, what or who are you serving? Is it your own agenda? Is it your own selfish desires? Or is it someone else?
We should be serving the King of Kings! He alone is worthy!
I challenge you to do two things. One, Thank a veteran. (Take a walk in one of our National Cemeteries. Jacksonville has a beautiful one. If you have never been, you should go.
My wife, Lisa, went on a Missions trip to Germany. She said one of the most moving experiences was to go to one of the many cemeteries with the large American sections with row after row of the graves of young Americans who had given their lives to defend Freedom.)
Two, choose today to serve Jesus.
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
