Psalm 63:8 (KJV)
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Tomorrow and Thursday I will look at Thanksgiving themes. Today, I want to look at this verse. I believe (ever more so after the work the Lord is presently doing in my heart) a truth is here that is paramount in the Christian life.

Following hard after God. It is the simplest statement on the reason God created man. To follow after God. To seek Him. It is David’s theme for the entire Psalm. David knew that his primary goal in life was and should be to follow after, to fellowship with God.

I think, in one way, this is the reason for Thanksgiving to begin with. Our Pilgrim Forefathers Knew that by following hard after HIM, they could expect and had received His right hand holding them up. It is true the Lord used Native Americans to teach ways of survival to those Pilgrims, all in Divine Providence.

Our question today is are you following hard after God? Are you pursuing a relationship with our Lord? By pursuing, I mean is your relationship with the Lord paramount in your life. In today’s society, the focus is about working to make you a better you, when the Lord wants us to make more of Jesus. Which, by the way, will in turn produce a more spiritual you. That is a novel thought. Just what the Lord wants.

Please take it to heart.

 Be Blessed,
