Psalm 63:1-2 (KJV)
 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

 We are investigating the idea of seeking the Lord. Remember Jesus said that life eternal is to know God and Jesus Christ who He sent. In other words, the whole reason for saving us, paying our sin debt and purchasing us from sin is to begin the process of fellowship with God. Walking with HIM! Remember that God and Adam, the first man, walked together every day. Our great God wants the same relationship with us.

 David is known as the man after God’s own heart. He had an understanding about walking with God. Notice the second phrase in our verse, “early will I seek thee.” The phrase means at dawn, earnestly, painstakingly diligently will I hunt after you.

 David is saying this is a priority in my life. This is primary. He uses the picture of a man parched from thirst. This is a man who has walked the desert lands. The man cannot go on without water. He is saying LORD, I want to be with you. I want to know you. He is stating his desire. This is the first step to knowing God.

 Our desire. It begins small at first. We must do as Moses did when he saw the burning bush. He turned aside to see. The God of Heaven never spoke a word to Moses until Moses turned aside. But when Moses made that small step God moved toward him. He will do the same for you.

 Turn aside today.

 Be Blessed,

Bro. Dewayne
