1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Today is the first day of October. Can you believe it? Soon we will be thinking of Thanksgiving and Christmas, then the New Year. Time moves fast. Things change quickly, even instantly.

Our verse today reminds us that there are some things that we should firmly hold onto and adhere to. All because of the foundation that we stand on. One of the cardinal rules in Bible Study is, when you see the word “therefore” you should find out what it is there for.

Here our opening word is pointing us back to the Bible’s declaration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God sets forth the proof of the resurrection and the power it provides and the requirements it demands!

One of the many requirements is to be stedfast, that is settled, grounded, in our determination to live Victoriously. The power of the resurrection is what gives us authority over our flesh and over the things of this world. Since Jesus overcame death and it’s icy grip He can and has overcome the devil’s ultimate weapon. Remember the etymology of the word death means separation. We do not have to be separated from God because of the shed blood of Jesus and His resurrection from the dead. Our daily walk with the Lord keeps our fellowship warm and growing and allows His power to work in us to guide us in overcoming the trials, tricks, and temptations of the wicked one.

Stay close with the Father through the Spirit, and the Word.

 Be Blessed,

Bro. Dewayne
