A Golden Psalm
To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath.
Psalm 56:13 (KJV)
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
“A Golden Psalm”.
Remember David is writing instructions that we are NOT to forget or to lose. Here David does what so many of us refuse to do. He admits that he went outside of God’s Will.
When David tells the Lord you have delivered my soul from death, he is acknowledging that the Lord had protected him. He, God, had made a way of escape for David from Gath. Have you ever strayed? The truth be told we all have.
When we stray, there is only ONE thing to do. Turn back to the Lord. David said in verse 9 I cried unto the Lord. Why? Because he knew the Lord was (is) for him. How did he and how can we know that? By listening to the instructions given by the Lord in His Word. Over and Over again the Lord tells us He knows what is best and wants what is best for us.
I have a preacher friend that he would often say “Are you listening?” It is a fitting question for us all today!
Be Blessed,
Bro. Dewayne
