A Golden Psalm

To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath.

 Psalm 56:13 (KJV)
13  For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

 “A Golden Psalm”.

David asks the Lord for a wonderful request. He asks our Lord to keep me from falling. What a great request! David is saying to our Lord, I need help. I do not want to stray again. I want to walk before my God in the “way I should go.”

David admits his frailty. He is “prone to wander.” All of this should be so familiar to us. It is true in our own lives. But David also adds his desire to “walk before God.”

That is a desire we should all have. To Walk with God. That is or should be the primary vocation of every believer.

This desire of David was communion with God. It is the very reason the Lord created man, that we would walk with Him. Adam, before sin walked with God.

We too, have the wonderful privilege of walking with the God of the universe. He loves you and me so much that He wants to fellowship with us.

What a wonderful thought. The song writer put it this way “He walks with me and talks with me.”

 Are you “Walking” with God?

 Be Blessed,
