Psalm 70:4 KJV
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
Today, I want to begin to look at Psalm 70 for a few days. This Psalm jumped out at me in my Bible reading yesterday. We will discuss some behind the scenes things that are needed but today just one phrase of a verse.
Let God be magnified.
How in the world can “God be magnified?” It really is the central thought in this Psalm! I would assert that it is the central thought in the Bible! David tells us the answer in the verse when He says “Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation.”
Look at the life of Jesus, He made two important statements, one “I do always the things that please the father.” The second is “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” These statements give us the key in magnifying the Father.
We must determine that we want our life to magnify our Heavenly Father. Think about what a magnifying glass does. It makes whatever it is pointed towards Bigger. The first question we need to ask ourselves is “what direction is my life pointing to?” It is the main question!
For those of us that are believers, have a responsibility to “turn our eyes upon Jesus.” Jeremiah tells us that “mine eye affecteth mine heart.” He is saying that what you are looking at will become the direction of your life.
For today, lets ask ourselves, not someone else, but ourselves, what is your eye focused upon. Above all else, above your occupation, your vocation, your eye and your heart should be fixed upon our Heaven Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
What are you looking at?
Be Blessed,
