Habakkuk 2:2-4 (KJV)
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Today let’s look at the word “readeth.” It means to confront with truth, to accost, to call out, even to proclaim or preach. God’s Word is intended to confront things in our lives that need to be straightened out. Things that need attention. Things that need to be strengthened or things that need to be reinforced.
The lesson is that the Bible does not just contain words on a page but it contains the mind of God, the heart of God and the wisdom of God. Our loving Heavenly Father has given us instructions for life. These instructions are there for you and I to ponder, to meditate on, to obey.
When you read your Bible, do you decide as you read if you are going to obey, if you like it? Or do you decide “up front” I am going to obey my instructions. If you only obey if it fits into your plans then you have decided, you are the authority in your life not God. You are the one who is in control.
The problem with that is we are not in control. We cannot control anything. That is why the Bible is intended to confront us. It is also why the devil attacks the authority and authenticity of Scripture. He knows if you obey what you read you will run your race to win.
Obey today.
Be Blessed,
